ZAPWATER WINS BEST OF SHOW AT BULLDOG AWARDS
This week brought another first for Zapwater.
BEST OF SHOW
In addition to all of the awards our agency has been winning, we’ve just been named the best of the best.
Zapwater’s campaign on behalf of Downsize Fitness won the Grand Prize (or Best of Show) at the 2013 Bulldog Reporter awards.
What does this mean? It mean’s our campaign Downsize Fitness: Downsizing the Obesity Epidemic was judged the best of all winning campaigns in this national public relations industry awards competition.
Winners were chosen exclusively by working journalists from hundreds of entries representing the very best strategic and tactical prowess that PR/corporate communications has to offer. Campaigns were judged on a variety of factors, including the ability to achieve extraordinary visibility and influence opinion, as well as on their creativity, command of media and technology, and tenacity.
“This campaign won three Bulldog Media Relations Awards—an extraordinary achievement by any measure. But it’s no surprise when you consider Zapwater Communications Downsize Fitness campaign demonstrates all the classic qualities of outstanding public relations—solid research, brilliant creative, savvy media relations strategy, top-tier story placements and quantifiable business results. It’s every client’s dream. This is not the first time Zapwater Communications has won Bulldog Awards, so we’re not surprised at their high-level performance, but the Downsize Fitness effort was world class.” observed Bulldog Reporter publisher James Sinkinson.
Oh yeah. Zapwater also won two Gold, one Silver and one Bronze Bulldog Award. This comes on the heels of being named a finalist for six Publicity Club of Chicago Golden Trumpets. Our award-winning team has clinched 16 potential industry awards this year, 19 in 2012 and a total of 47 since 2008.
I am so proud of my team and proud of our agency. These accolades reaffirm this agency’s commitment to be the best boutique agency in the country. And I am pretty confident only bigger and better things are on the horizon.
It’s always exiting to start off a week with some exciting news. Early Monday morning, our computers lit up as we received the news that we’ve been shortlisted for two Gold SABRE Awards.
We were nominated in the Retailers and Web-Based Business categories.
The world’s largest awards competition for the public relations industry, the SABRE Awards celebrate PR campaigns that demonstrate the highest levels of creativity, integrity and effectiveness.
This is the second year in a row that we have been named finalist for multiple SABREs, an honor usually reserved for large global agencies.
This year’s nominations confirm Zapwater’s ability to deliver creative thinking, effective communications counsel and return on investment at an award-winning level.
We’re truly honored by all these awards. It’s a testament to our amazing team and clients. The team at Zapwater thanks you for your continued support.
ZAPWATER WINS BIG AT ADRIAN AWARDS
Awards season is upon us and we’re am not talking about the Golden Globes or the Oscars. But we do feel a little like “Slum Dog Millionaire.”
The awards season that we are discussing is the public relations industry awards season, and we’re proud to say our “little Chicago agency that could” continues to bring home global accolades.
At the recent 56th annual Adrian Awards gala, Zapwater received the Public Relations Platinum Award, the most prestigious award in travel marketing. This is the second time that Zapwater has been bestowed with this honor and the 19th major award the agency has received in the past 12 months.
It is further proof that you don’t need a global or New York agency to deliver world-class results.
Zapwater has a long awards season ahead of us. Fingers crossed it will be “Titanic-esque.”
As we head into the final weeks of 2012, I am happy to share with you some exciting news. Zapwater Communications has once again received prestigious industry awards for public relations excellence. The agency is the recipient of two HSMAI Adrian Awards for travel marketing excellence.
This year, we’ve been recognized with awards on behalf of seven different clients, including a Gold Sabre Award for Best Fashion & Beauty Campaign in North America and a Gold Bulldog Award for Best Consumer Campaign of 2012.
We certainly aren’t ready to rest on our laurels and we’re already gearing up for 2013. We’re continuing to invest in our staff, now 16 strong. Our last two hires have been at the Vice President level, helping us round out our leadership team.
Just this week, the Chicago Business Journal singled us out by saying “In a city where independent public relations firms are in surprisingly short supply, Zapwater has established a name for itself as a shop with expertise in practices ranging from travel and education to lifestyle and fashion. In 2012, the agency has so far won 19 awards for its public relations campaigns.”
In short, you can expect big things from Zapwater in 2013.
AWARDS SEASON 2012
Is it starting all over again? We just received an email alerting us that the call for next year’s HSMAI Adrian Awards opens July 15. And the madness begins again.

MY GOLDEN SMILE
What a week it has been at Zapwater!
First, we were notified that we won seven Bulldog Awards, a national public relations industry competition judged by top-tier journalists. We were excited to learn that we won more awards than any other agency in the United States.
On Tuesday, one of our campaigns was recognized as the Best Fashion & Beauty campaign in North America. Zapwater received a Gold Sabre, the biggest and most prestigious award in the public relations industry. The Sabre Awards were dominated by the biggest agencies in the world, and we were proud to be in such good company.
Finally, Zapwater is proud to announce that the agency was awarded six “Trumpets” in the Publicity Club of Chicago’s annual Golden Trumpet Awards. Zapwater received four Gold and two Silver Trumpets.
Since January 2012, Zapwater has now received 18 industry accolades on behalf of seven different client campaigns.
The accolades we have recently won reaffirm this agency’s commitment to be the best boutique agency in the country.
We’re looking forward to delivering more award-winning campaigns throughout 2012 and into 2013.
On Monday, some of the Zapwater team will head to New York to accept three Adrian Awards from Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI). The annual Adrian Awards Competition is the largest and most prestigious global travel marketing competition.
